North West Organic Milk Producers Ltd
Organic
milk has been one of Britain’s most successful sales stories – the consumer market keeps
growing and growing, with no sign of slowing down. So there’s no
better time to officially announce the founding of the North West
Organic Milk Producers group, after many months of background
work.
The group, at the moment around 20 committed founder
members, all organic dairy farmers, is steadily growing. It aims
to increase sales, protect producers and promote awareness of
organic milk and milk products in the North West. Funding has been secured for the next few years, and while
members will make a contribution to the fund, the group, backed by
the main milk co-operatives, expects the small payment will have
big results. Stuart Martin
will head up the marketing team, and hopes to mirror the success
he’s had with a similar group in Scotland, where sales of
organic milk have significantly increased in the last 3 years,
proving that there is real power, as well as safety, in numbers.
The group is keen to hear from any interested producers and
processors in the area, and hopes to link up with all like-minded
